    Checkup

Went to my family Doctor Melling.

    BP 110/70

    Pulse 72

    Temp 95.1       Yes NINETY FIVE!

Weight 219…. down 11 lbs since last visit.:-)

Doctor Melling thinks my slow weight loss may be due to Lyrica, Abilify, and/or my PCOS.

Wants Dr Langton My endocrinologist to check my thyroid, my hormones levels, etc for PCOS and Cushings. I see Langton next Thursday.

Starting on Tramadol for my Fibromyalgia.

    Back on Glucophage. Stopped Glypizide.

Gonna start aquatic therapy for my fibromylagia in Sept at St Lukes Therapy.

Spoke to My Gastric Bypass nurse about my exploratory surgery. Found adhesions in my small bowel and EVERYTHING ELSE WAS NORMAL!

    Praise Jesus!

    Went to Walmart grocery shopping.

Ate at the Gondolier. Had a childs portion of Ravioli. I only ate 2.5 of them. DUMPED like crazy after wards. UGH!

Sugar is almost back to normal. Thinking the abnormal high glucose levels might have been a stress reaction to the surgery.

Fed-Ex delivered my Cuisinart Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream, and Sorbet Maker. Gonna make No Sugar added, high protein, low fat ice cream. Been craving ice cream! YUM!

Love and Prayers to my beloved John. Pray he is sleeping well.

Prayers to my Aunt Earlene who is in the hospital with a  stroke or Bells Palsy.

Thanks Jesus for everything. I feel much better knowing that all is well with my gastric bypass surgery. I know I will continue to lose weight.

    God Bless Everyone,

    Angela

Things going on in my life

I just realized that I had not updated here after surgery.

    Sorry.

Surgery lasted about an hour. All I know is the doc found adhesions aka internal scar tissue and removed it. Waiting for my surgeons report. Gonna call my nurse Amy tomorrow or Wednesday to see if the report is in the computer.

No longer having the upper left quadrant pain any more. Praise Jesus. Just major soreness all over my tummy. Surgeon had to make 4 separate incisions and could not do just belly button surgery which I assume was due to previous scar tissue from the Gall bladder removal surgery I had over 10 years ago.

I  have had some severe nausea and dry heaves since surgery.

    Diarrhea still exists. UGH!

I am sleeping much better. Maybe too much sleep. Hypersomnia!

Rosie and I go for Mammograms tomorrow and then to see Dr Melling on Wednesday.

I am gonna discuss my depression and fibromylagia pain with him. I have stopped lyrica and abilify over the past 2 months. Weaned myself off them slowly. I am still taking Cymbalta and Buspar. Mood swings are back. I hate being so moody.

I am blessed to have lost 52 lbs since Roux-en-Y surgery but I should have lost double that by now so hence I feel like it has failed me and/or I am a failure. Since January 2009 I have lost over 95-105 lbs depending on who scales I am on.

Not sure why I have lost so little. Have not lost much since the last of January. Up and down the same 5-10 lbs. So frustrating to me.

I am gonna have Dr Langton, my endocrinologist check my metabolism and my cortisol levels. Also need to recheck my hormone levels and my thyroid. PCOS? Cushings?

I am trying to be more extroverted and friendlier. It is so difficult. Always worried in saying something stupid or being laughed at. Been shy ever since I can remember. Praying to become more relaxed with myself and with others. Social Anxiety Sucks!

My sugar went to 581 yesterday and is still hovering near 200 or so. Only culprit we can think that may have caused it is that Dad stopped and got me to large glasses of UNSWEETENED Ice Tea from a convenience store… I put sugar free Equal, Splenda and Sweet-n-low in it without tasting it before hand.  I am THINKING it may have been SWEET Tea!!! Nothing else should have cause my sugar to skyrocket like that! From now on I will taste before sweetening it just to be certain. I hate high glucose episodes…. Make me feel so terrible.

Sitting here waiting for John to come online to chat. Should be here within the hour. Can’t wait to see him. He keeps me sane. I love that silver foxy devil!

Thanks Jesus for all the wonderful blessings you have bestowed on me. Help me overcome this feeling of failure. I wanna succeed in life.

    ~GOD BLESS,

    Angela

    Diagnostic Gastric Laparoscopy

Been stressing out over the exploratory gastric surgery that I am having on the 10th. Much more stressed than I was when I had lap Roux-en-y in Sept 2009.

I think it is due to the uncertainty…

not knowing what is causing my upper left quadrant pain

worrying what they will find once they get the camera inside…

wondering what will be needed to fix it…

Is it just my irritable bowel?

Is it all just stress induced?

    An ulcer?

    Hernia?

    Adhesion?

    Scarring?

    Gastric Fistula?

I have been reading and THINK it may be the fistula. Where my new pouch is re-attaching to my old stomach… that would also explain my low weight loss.

Maybe the low weight loss is my messed up metabolism.

Gonna have my endocrinologist check me for Cushings.

52 lbs loss in 11 months after gastric bypass by all means is a FAILURE

My current weight and BMI still qualifies me for Gastric Bypass.

Still having all sorts of stomach pain. More constant the past few weeks. Have it even at night.

The Pain, Nausea and Diarrhea is making my life miserable.

At times I get so full so quickly and other times it feels like my appetite is never satiated. Always hungry.

Thought that after RNY that I was suppose to feel full after 1/2 c food and I never was.

I am still doing my best to follow all my dietary rules.

    So frustrating.

Weight at Dr. Greg Mancini last week was 220 lbs. a weight I have weighed since January!!!!! (within 10 lbs) I did go up to 230 last month. Gaining weight. FAILURE! Had to go on a liquid diet to lose those 10 nasty pounds.

My glucose levels have been swinging wildly. For  instance once today it was 351 and then 70!!!!

I am taking much less insulin the past week or so. Down to around 15 units daily now. Last year at this time I was taking up to 150 units daily.

I no longer take Aygestin,  Abilify, or Lyrica. Seems that has helped my glucose levels. Just have been going too low often. Re-adjusted my insulin pump. Just not sure how much insulin to  take. Trial and Error. Best to take not enough than too much so I have been doing lots of insulin Corrections. Testing 5-6 times daily. Gonna test again after I post this.

I have been so worried and depressed. Been sleeping way to much. Around 12+ hours daily. Not wanting to do anything. Stressed. Crying. Fretting.

Thank God for John. He helps me. Makes me smile. Is always there for me. I adore  him.

    Wish I had more confidence.

    Wish I was more extroverted.

Wish I would not have panic attacks.

Wish I was not so scared of life.

Wish I was more comfortable around others, especially men.

Wish I was able to live a richer fuller more rewarding life.

Fibromyalgia has been acting up. Having shoulder, hip, and thigh pains.

I had all my pre-surgery testing last week at the University of Tennessee. Blood work, EKG, and gave them my medical history for the anesthesiologist.

Dr Mancini is going in through my navel aka Belly Button with a Laparoscopy Camera to look around. Surgery is scheduled around 11 am on Tuesday the 10th of August. “Day Surgery” if all goes well.

Really want to get out of the hospital the same day as the surgery. Rosie needs me.

I pray that the surgery goes smoothly and that whatever has caused my pain and low weight loss can be easily scene and repaired. Lord Jesus guide the doctors and nurses taking care of me and bless them. I surrender my life, surgery and recovery to Jesus.

    Tuesday and Wednesday

On Tuesday we went to Walmart to grocery shop. Got stuff to make homemade no-cook protein balls. Made them today. YUM

Went and saw Knight and Day with Cruise and Dias. Good Action Flick.

Ate at Justin’s. He had NY Strip for $1 an ounce with tater and salad. I got 8 oz. Only ate 3 oz of it and I brought home 5 oz for my puppy and kittys.

Yesterday wore me out. Had fibro pain yesterday and still having it today.

My weight has stabilized at 220. Much better than the 230 I was last Friday!

Stomach issues persists. Pain in left upper quadrant. Diarrhea and/or constipation is a daily fight.

Dell repair tech has installed my replacement hard-drive. Waiting for it to get loaded on the PC. Took the tech 5 min and he was gone. May take a few hours to finish.

Ate some cantaloupe today and I am in misery. Feel so full. UGH!

Missed chatting with John last night. Will see him tonight. SMILE.

Still having severe thigh aches and pains. I have an appt to see my Family Doc tomorrow.

Had this same pain when I was in Renal Failure which scares me. Pain pills only help for about 2 hours.

I have slept 3.5 hours and heading back to bed in a few minutes.

    Angela

    Bedtime

Almost 5 am and time to hot the sack.

Having pain in  my legs, arms and back.

    Pray that I can sleep.

Seems I can take Trazodone and  sleep 3 hours. Then I am Awake 3 hours. Take another Trazodone and sleep 3 hours.I can take a total of 150 mg of trazodone. Sometimes I only take 12.5 each time. I have tried 150 mg at once and still can only sleep 3 hours. If I wake up around 10-11 am and I haven’t slept I am afraid to take more than 25 mg since Trazodone knocks me out!

I don’t wanna sleep all morning into the late  afternoon and be up all night .. but alas that is what has been transpiring.

Pray that I can regulate my sleep patterns.

    Good Night and Sweet Dreams.

Prayers to all those who suffer form Insomnia or hypersomnia. A few days last week I slept 12 hours. TWELVE!

    God Bless,

    Angela

    ~Angela~ Update on Moi'

    Doing so-so.

My sugar has been everywhere from 90 to 487 this week. That in itself is draining.

Slept around 6 hours last night. Was up till 6 am though

Having a wonderful time getting closer to my baby Love John. He is the greatest. A few times in the past week he has had on his business attire and looking so debonair and HOT… which he always does but a dress shirt is so lovely on him. Once this week he had on a white linen casual shirt.. unbuttoned a lil.. Thought I was gonna faint with desire!

I am now on Buspar, Lyrica, Cymbalta and Trazodone for my Fibromylagia, Neuropahy, Social Anxiety,Insomnia and Depression. I also take Novolog Insulin through my insulin pump. Plus Atenolol for my heart rate. Synthroid for my Thyroid. Glypizide for my diabetes. Aygestin for my Endometrial Hyperplasia. Hormone. Plus over 10 vitamins daily. Some days the vitamins make me so nauseous… But I need them.

My hair is fill falling out by the handfuls. I swear I am gonna end up bald before it levels out. Good Thing is that my hair is coming back in quickly. My Hypothyroid is the main culprit. That should get better soon as my synthroid dosage was lowered.

Been having weird legs craps. Not normal calf ones.. these are in the side of my leg above my ankle. Ugh.. So painful.

I had gained 5 lbs. I have lost 2.8 of those lbs this week. Watching my carb intake helps tremendously.

Ate 1/4th cup of homemade spaghetti and meat sauce for supper and it made me ill.

I haven’s had upper left quadrant stomach pain since I stopped the pre-made protein shakes. THANK GOD I figured out what was causing it.

My Irritable Bowel probs comes and goes. Had more than a few accidents while I was sleeping this past month. UGH. What a mess. Some days all I have is diarrhea and others constipation. Not pleasant in the least.

Since I have been losing hair and had to Cut it short I ordered a HUMAN HAIR Wig.. Should be here on Monday. Can’t wait to have hair flowing down my back again. Now just hope I can get my hair to match the wig perfectly. I ordered a 3/4 wig which means my front hair will go over the wig and blend. I use to wear wigs all the time about 16 years ago. Love being able to change my style often. I bore easily.

My love and Prayers to Bret, His family, friends, and fans.

Having lots of visitors from Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Nebraska…. Makes me wonder if it is Bret’s family since that is where he and his family members reside. Hmmmm…. Curious.

We (Dad, Rosie and I) bought more domain websites this week. My family now owns 48 websites. Now just getting them all up and running. Wish us luck!

Excited about Google RUMORED Tablet which is like the Ipad but better. Can’t wait for more news on it. I want one!

Wondering if I have another UTI. My sugar has been swinging wildly and it is often due to an UTI. Seemsl ike I am urinating too much and too often. I have lab work on my Kidneys on Tuesday so I guess we will find out then.

Will prolly be going grocery shopping tomorrow. Pray that I don’t have a panic attack.. which I often do!

Was gonna go shower but just realized it is 3:45 AM!

I have hair oil on … slept it in last night and looks like I will sleep in it tonight. Using jojoba oil, sweet almond oil with Lemon essential oils for a nice scent. My scalp is so itchy lately. Feels like I have salt grains and sores in it, Sure it is related to my hypothyroid.

    I am off to bed.

I send all my love, prayers, and blessings to all who read this.

The Lord Jesus Christ Loves you.

    God Bless,

    Angela

This explains a lot!!!!! “People With Fibromyalgia Prone to Falls”

Findings Suggest Patients May Benefit From Balance Exercises

May 7, 2010 (Baltimore) — People with fibromyalgia may be prone to falls due to balance problems, a small study suggests.

The findings suggest that people with fibromyalgia can benefit from exercises to improve balance, says Kim Dupree Jones, PhD, of Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.

“Balance is what we can try to manipulate to reduce falls, just like we try to manipulate cholesterol levels to reduce heart disease,” she tells WebMD.

Jones and colleagues studied 25 middle-aged people, average age 50, with fibromyalgia and 28 healthy people in the same age group.

Over a six-month period, those with fibromyalgia fell an average of 3.48 times vs. an average of 0.15 falls in the healthy group.

The National Fibromyalgia Association estimates that about 10 million Americans — mostly women — have fibromyalgia, an unexplained condition characterized by chronic pain and fatigue.

The new study was presented at the annual meeting of the American Pain Society.

People With Fibromyalgia Score Worse on Balance Test

The study involved only middle-aged people in order to preclude older age as a culprit in patients’ falls, Jones says.

To find out whether balance problems could be to blame, the researchers employed computerized balance platform testing. “It tests the three components of balance — visual, vestibular (spatial) and somatosensory,” Jones says.

The test involves standing on a platform while watching a visual target. Pressure gauges under the platform record shifts in body sway as a person is subjected to conditions that are designed to make the person lose balance.

“How much you sway gives you information about balance,” she says.

People with fibromyalgia scored worse on all three parts of the test than their healthy counterparts.

On the visual aspect of the balance test, the fibromyalgia group scored an average 0.68 while the healthy group scored an average of 0.87. In all three parts, 1 represents a perfect score.

On the spatial part of the test, the fibromyalgia group scored an average 0.41 vs. an average 0.67 in the healthy group. On the somatosensory part, scores were 0.91 and 0.98, respectively.

“The average 50-year old with fibromyalgia has scores on all the tests that are worse than you would expect in a healthy 70- to 80-year-old,” Jones says.

The study also showed there was no relationship between the number of medications fibromyalgia patients took and their balance scores.

However, people with fibromyalgia did take substantially more medications than the healthy participants, which means that the possibility that medications are contributing to their falls can’t be ruled out.

Armando Miciano, MD, of the Nevada Rehabilitation Institute in Las Vegas, tells WebMD that studies have shown that aerobic exercise can help to improve pain, fatigue, and depression in people with fibromyalgia.

The new findings suggest “we should be recommending balance exercises as well as aerobic exercise for our patients,” he says

    Saw My Family Doctor today

Added Lyrica to my Fibromylagia meds.
